My second Emily and like the first I could see the face with long flowing hair within the original stone. The richness of the veins in the marble were a real discovery as the carving progressed. Like the first Emily and Freda the eyes are closed creating a calmness with a slight melancholic tilt of the head. The base stone was chosen to echo the shape of the piece so that would appear to float above it.
