"Free in the sense I had no pre-conceived idea before I started. I simply removed stone bit by bit with each step informing what next to take away until I reached a point where I was happy to stop. It’s the first time I’ve tried this approach and I found it very experimental and uncertain. The nature of the material and its textures and colouration provided the inspiration and guidance throughout the process."
