My second work in marble inspired by Emily Young and the first work to be influenced by the shape of the starting stone. I saw a face with hair sweeping back and the carving evolved from there. The weathered texture of the stone provides a contrast to the softness of the face. It has a Grecian feel to it and looks like Athena, goddess of war and daughter of Zeus wearing her helmet pushed back on her head.
